Abstract

A Cloison from the Gobelsburg excavations (Grave 1) was characterized more closely by SEM-BSE examination and transmitted light microscopy at the Natural History Museum in Vienna. In addition to the chemical composition, the garnet platelets of this piece were also examined for mineral inclusions in the almandine. The secondary minerals on the metal frame were also determined.
