Nel catalogo sono descritti 156 manoscritti d’origine universitaria identificati in biblioteche monastiche e pubbliche austriache. Tre manoscritti contenenti rispettivamente il Rationale divinorum officiorum di Guglielmo Durante, lo Speculum iudiciale dello stesso e il commento Super Physicam di Egidio Romano presentano caratteri tipici degli exemplaria. In particolare lo Speculum proviene dalla bottega del famoso bidello bolognese Ardizzone († 1289). I restanti, con indicazioni esplicite di pecia, sono stati realizzati in università italiane e francesi tra il sec. XIII ed il sec. XIV. Sono presenti manoscritti di tutte le discipline oggetto d‘insegnamento nelle università, ovvero di diritto canonico e civile, di teologia, di filosofia e di medicina.

The catalogue records 156 manuscripts produced in medieval universities, now preserved in Austrian monastic and public libraries. Three manuscripts, containing respectively the Rationale divinorum officiorum by William Durant, the Speculum iudiciale by the same, and the Super Physicam by Aegidius of Rome, present codicological and paleographical characteristics which are typical of exemplaria. In particular, the Speculum comes from the workshop of the famous stationer, Arditio (†1289). The other manuscripts, which bear indications of pecia, were produced in Italian and French universities between the 13th and 14th centuries. There are manuscripts in the catalogue which cover the whole teaching curriculum in the medieval universities, for example works on canon and civil law, theology, philology and medicine.

Im Rahmen des Katalogs werden 156 an mittelalterlichen Universitäten entstandene Handschriften beschrieben, die jetzt in österreichischen Bibliotheken verwahrt werden.

Unter diesen weisen drei Manuskripte – sie enthalten das Rationale divinorum officiorum und das Speculum iudiciale des Guillelmus Duranti sowie den Kommentar Super Physicam des Aegidius Romanus – die für Exemplaria charakteristischen Merkmale auf. Besonders ervorzuheben ist das Speculum, das aus dem Atelier des berühmten Bologneser stationarius Arditio († 1289) stammt. Die übrigen Codices des Verzeichnisses mit expliziten Pecienmerkmalen wurden im Verlaufe des 13. und 14. Jahrhunderts an französischen und italienischen Universitäten hergestellt. Hinsichtlich des Inhaltes kann gesagt werden, dass sie den gesamten Lehrstoff bzw. Lehrplan der mittelalterlichen Universitäten abdecken, z. B. das kanonische und zivile Recht, die Theologie, Philologie und Medizin.
