Umfangreiche Abfragemöglichkeiten vereinfachen die Recherche von motivlich oder thematisch verwandten Textstellen oder geben in ausführlichen englischen Exzerpten einen bequemen Überblick über Motive und Inhalt auch weniger leicht verfügbarer deutscher Texte des Mittelalters. The electronic access to the "Motif-Index of German Secular Narrative Literature from the Beginning to 1400" allows the entire published version to undergo both a search according to motif, keyword or name, or a full-text search in all excerpts from the documented German secular narrative literature before 1400. A wide range of search possibilities facilitates research on text passages that are thematically related, and gives, in extensive English excerpts, a convenient overview of subjects and contents, also of mediaeval German texts that are not easily available. In addition to the indices that are found in the published version, which list subjects, names and keywords thematically and alphabetically, the electronic search for relevant works and passages is greatly improved by the continuous hyper-linking of subject and keyword.
