In recent years, Austria has faced a series of profound global crises that have left a lasting impact on the personal lives of its residents. The COVID-19 pandemic, followed closely by the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, disrupted daily routines, heightened psychological strain, and introduced a range of health, social, and political challenges. Moreover, the effects of these crises extend far beyond financial hardship. They raise important questions about how different demographic groups perceive and experience these burdens, the role of household financial circumstances in shaping these perceptions, and whether the crises have led individuals and families to reassess their family plans. By shedding light on these pressing issues, this brochure aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of how global crises shape personal lives, offering insights with both academic and policy relevance.
