Schwerpunkt: Alternative und komplementäre Heilmethoden in der Neuzeit
The paper deals with the medical practices of catholic clerics in Tyrol, focussing especially on homeopathy. First, different practices of pastoral medical care are embedded in the manifold spectrum of the medical market in the area of investigation. Following this, the article givesan exemplary exploration founded on diverse sources, primarily the records of the Archivesof the Archdiocese of Salzburg, dealing with the conflicts of clerics as lay-healers in various Tyrolean parishes between the 1840s and the 1860s.
