Abstract: At least since the UN-convention on disabled persons official state authorities discussthe equation and inclusion of ill and disabled people, too. Their wish to participateshould be considered now, and, of course, had existed before. This is true also for theperiod before and during National Socialism. Disabled and chronically ill persons werelooking for their place in society in those days, too. In the following, several biographiesof victims of sterilisation and euthanasia are presented. Their as well individualas milieu-specific self-presentations are displayed, which in terms of those-days’medical diagnoses and social evaluations were regarded deviant and, finally, to beeliminated. These persons could not realise their live plans and wishes due to societalregulations.
