Ausgabe 01/2026: März
Venous malformations (VMs) are rare but clinically significant vascular anomalies that can substantially impair quality of life due to functional limitations, recurrent
thrombosis, bleeding, and chronic pain. VMs can be caused by somatic gain-of-function variants in TEK or PIK3CA. PI3K inhibitors represent a targeted therapeutic option, directly modulating the affected PI3K–AKT–mTOR signaling pathway.
