Schwerpunkt: Gesellschaft und Psychiatrie in Österreich 1945 bis ca. 1970
The development of child and adolescent psychiatry in Austria carries the burden of its historical inheritance of the Nazi period. The development after 1945 shows contradictory aspects as a reflection of the social and political situation. A compromise (additive specialisation “Kinderneuropsychiatrie”) between child psychiatry (in the narrow sense), oriented towards social-psychiatric and psychotherapeutic approaches and the – quantitatively dominant – “heilpädagogisches Netzwerk” following conservative approaches, was established in 1975.
